It was widely reported in Australian media recently that a conglomerate of pubs (owned by a foreign firm) would ban Australia Day celebrations across their 200+ venues. Among the venues are several very well known pubs that will not be doing a roaring trade in the New Year or any time until they stop playing politics.
This is what we’re up against. A clear example of how woke, activist politics wages war on normal life. 99.9% of Australians don’t like and don’t support these unhinged policies. They are implemented by 5 or 10 people in management positions, who sell out the 99.9% of Australians to appease an activist woke mob of the 0.001%.
Australian Venue Co (AVC) runs some famous venues like Cargo in Sydney, the Golden Gate Hotel in Melbourne and Fridays in Brisbane. This is the statement they released:
“Australia Day is a day that causes sadness for some members of our community, so we have decided not to specifically celebrate a day that causes hurt for some of our patrons and our team,”. Outrageous.
Although some media have focused on the fact that the company is 80% owned by a Hong Kong based firm, it is definitely a local problem. Make no mistake - it is woke Australian CEOs and executives that make these decisions. CEO Paul Watterson is ultimately responsible for the decision.

Many people will be boycotting these locations. That is your right as a customer.
